Cyber perfect fireworks.

Computers are everywhere, even in the fireworks business. You need them to transform the traditional fireworks into a perfect art. I'm eager to see tomorrow (at University of Waterloo's Columbia Lake Fields) a cyber perfect fireworks demonstration done by one of the best, Dave Whysall.

Canada prepares for its 141 anniversary.

All of Canada is ready for the big party. Starting with the Capital, to big cities, regions and every community the Canadian national feeling will proudly live tomorrow. While any celebration is a good reason to have fun it is also the time to look at the achievements and challenges to overcome for a brighter future.

Happy Canada Day, eh!

Hollywood stars in Stratford.

The Shakespearean fame of Ontario's Stratford Shakespeare Festival is starting to attract Hollywood stars. Besides Canadian star Christopher Plummer that has Stratford in his heart (see my note in this post), Brian Dennehy is another Hollywood star to play in Stratford.

From the smallest to the greatest.

The science of the very small (quantum-nano research) was the centre of attention in the Waterloo Region at the beginning of this month. The very small needs big money to reveal its greatest potential.

The Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre is the story of how the very small will become very big.

Ideas democracy.

Another example of good probabilities is when valuable ideas are discovered in a democratic way. The current experiments with the prediction markets look promising for a more accurate corporate decision-making. The process of harvesting and decision on good ideas allows big companies to behave as small ones.
